transcosmos Achieves Milestone as First PCI DSS v4.0 Certified BPO Services Company in South Korea, Setting Global Standard in Information Management Systems

transcosmos has achieved the distinction of being the first BPO services company in South Korea to receive PCI DSS v4.0 certification. By successfully meeting all 512 security testing requirements, they have proven their commitment to upholding global standards for information management systems as a leading Global BPO company.
transcosmos is excited to share that they are the first BPO company in South Korea to achieve compliance with the latest version of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), version 4.0. This standard is globally recognized for ensuring the security of credit card information for organizations that process cardholder data.
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a globally recognized standard created by major credit card companies to safeguard cardholder data, minimize the risk of data breaches, and ensure consistent security assessments. It sets out guidelines to protect systems that handle payment information and sensitive authentication data during international credit card transactions and other forms of card-based payments. PCI DSS certification must be renewed annually to maintain compliance and validity for another year.
In 2016, transcosmos became the first company in the South Korean BPO market to be certified as compliant with PCI DSS standards. Since then, the company has consistently maintained high levels of security for credit card payment processes, passing annual assessments that are increasingly strict. Recently, transcosmos' information management system received certification under the latest PCI DSS v4.0 standards, making it the first company in the BPO industry to achieve this level of security. This certification further solidifies transcosmos' reputation as a global BPO company.
The PCI DSS v4.0 standard includes 6 objectives and 12 criteria, with 512 information security testing procedures. Compared to version 3.2.1, which had 412 testing procedures, version 4.0 is even more rigorous. It now includes Multi-Factor Authentication requirements and heightened compliance standards, particularly in application account management.
transcosmos has met all the specific security criteria in six areas: ensuring a secure network and systems, safeguarding account data, having a vulnerability management program, enforcing strong access control measures, regularly testing networks, and maintaining an information security policy. As a result, transcosmos has achieved Level 1 Certification, the top compliance level in the most recent PCI DSS standards.
In order to stay ahead of the competition, transcosmos is adjusting to the evolving credit card payment landscape in South Korea. Their goal is to offer clients and customers worldwide top-notch information security services. transcosmos will remain focused on providing reliable and secure services to build trust with their clients in the future.
