AAEON’s BOXER-8658AI: The Ultimate In-Vehicle Powerhouse with 8 PoE LAN and E-Mark Certification

The AAEON BOXER-8658AI is a high-performance computing device designed for use in vehicles. It features eight PoE LAN ports, E-Mark certification, and multiple serial communication options, setting a new standard for in-vehicle embedded computing.
AAEON has introduced a new embedded AI system, the BOXER-8658AI, which is designed for use in vehicles and is based on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX. This system features eight PoE LAN ports, GNSS technology, a 9-axis sensor, E-Mark certification, and a 9V to 36V input with accessory ignition delay on/off.
Main features or
The BOXER-8658AI is specifically created to be easily set up and durable in tough conditions, meeting strict standards for shock and vibration resistance, as well as being able to withstand temperatures ranging from -15°C to 60°C. The system is compact, measuring 8.27’’ x 6.46’’ x 2.99’’ (or 9.69’’ x 6.46’’ x 3.27’’ with brackets) and can be quickly mounted on a wall. It features a variety of PoE ports, eliminating the need for an extra power source when used in mobile setups.
The BOXER-8658AI facilitates communication with different vehicle systems, sensors, and equipment through its I/O features. It includes four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, as well as DB-9 and DB-15 ports for CANBus and RS-232/422/485 connections. The DB-15 port on the system also supports an 8-bit DIO, while optional UART/I2C connector allows for GPS and 9-axis sensor board support.
The BOXER-8658AI has a variety of ports for connecting wired peripherals, as well as seven antenna openings for Wi-Fi and LTE communication. These can be accessed through the PC's M.2 2230 E-Key and M.2 3052 B-Key slots. It also has expansion options such as an M.2 2280 M-Key for NVMe, a SATA drive bay, and two SIM card slots.
AAEON mentions that the BOXER-8658AI can make use of the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX's high performance and powerful GPU architecture to perform complex AI tasks in in-vehicle or Industrial Network Video Recorder (NVR) applications. This is done by analyzing the large amounts of data collected from connected devices.
You can now pre-order the BOXER-8658AI on the eShop, which comes in options with either 8GB or 16GB NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX modules. It also includes LPDDR5 system memory with the same capacity.
