Amphenol RF Expands Antenna Portfolio with IP67 Sealed GPS/GNSS Antenna Featuring Low Noise Amplifier

Amphenol RF has added a new external GPS/GNSS antenna to their lineup, specifically designed for outdoor use and featuring a sealed IP67 rating. This antenna is equipped with a low noise amplifier for enhanced performance.

Amphenol RF has added a new external antenna design to their growing antenna collection. This antenna is designed to be mounted with adhesive and has waterproof protection rated at IP67 to guard against damage from external elements that could affect signal quality. The antenna includes a low noise amplifier (LNA) for improved performance, making it perfect for applications where the receiver is near the antenna and in areas with strong signal strength, like open spaces with a clear line of sight.

This specific antenna can boost weak signals from satellites by enhancing signal clarity and minimizing interference. It needs an external power supply to power the built-in LNA and is not as affected by signal loss from longer cable distances since the amplification takes place near the antenna. This external antenna comes with an SMA connector at the end of a 3-meter cable and is frequently utilized in GPS, Glonass, navigation, location-based services, and fleet management systems.

This antenna is part of a collection of external and internal antennas for IoT devices that are available in different configurations to support popular wireless communication protocols like LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LoRa. These ready-made products can be paired with Amphenol RF connectors, adapters, and cable assemblies to create a complete solution.
