Amphenol RF Introduces Sealed IP67 External Antenna with Low Noise Amplifier for Improved Performance in Outdoor Applications
Amphenol RF has added a new adhesive mount external GPS/GNSS antenna to its antenna collection. This antenna is designed for outdoor use and has sealed IP67 capabilities, providing enhanced performance with a low noise amplifier.
We are excited to introduce a new external antenna design to our growing antenna collection at Amphenol RF. This antenna is mounted with adhesive and has a waterproof rating of IP67 to protect against external elements that could disrupt signal quality. It also includes a low noise amplifier (LNA) for improved performance, making it perfect for applications where the receiver is near the antenna and in areas with strong signal strength, like open spaces with a clear line of sight.
This particular antenna is designed to strengthen weak signals received from satellites by enhancing signal clarity and minimizing interference. It needs an external power supply to power the built-in LNA and is not as affected by signal degradation from longer cable distances since the amplification happens near the antenna. The external antenna comes with an SMA connector at the end of a 3-meter cable and is frequently utilized in GPS and Glonass systems, navigation, location-based services, and fleet management tasks.
This antenna is part of a collection of IoT antennas that can be used both internally and externally. They come in different configurations to support popular wireless protocols like LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LoRa. These pre-made products can be paired with other Amphenol RF connectors, adapters, and cable assemblies to create a complete solution.
