Amphenol RF Introduces Sealed IP67 External GPS/GNSS Antenna with Low Noise Amplifier: Enhancing Performance for Outdoor Use
Amphenol RF has added a new adhesive mount external GPS/GNSS antenna to their antenna lineup, designed for outdoor use and equipped with a sealed IP67 external antenna for enhanced performance.
Amphenol RF is excited to introduce a new external antenna design to our growing antenna collection. This antenna is designed to be mounted with adhesive and is protected with IP67-rated waterproofing, shielding it from external elements that could disrupt signal quality. The active GPS/GNSS antenna comes with a built-in low noise amplifier (LNA) for improved performance, making it perfect for applications where the receiver is near the antenna and in locations with strong signal strength, like open areas with unobstructed views.
This antenna is designed to boost weak signals from satellites by enhancing signal clarity and minimizing interference. It needs an external power supply to power the built-in LNA and is not as affected by signal degradation from longer cable distances since the amplification takes place near the antenna. This external antenna comes with an SMA connector at the end of a 3-meter long cable and is frequently utilized in GPS and Glonass systems, as well as for navigation, location-based services, and fleet management purposes.
This antenna is part of a collection of external and internal IoT antennas that are currently on the market in different external and internal designs to support popular wireless technologies like LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LoRa. These ready-made products can be paired with other Amphenol RF connectors, adapters, and cable assemblies to make a complete solution.
