Amphenol RF Introduces Sealed IP67 External GPS/GNSS Antenna with Low Noise Amplifier for Enhanced Performance

Amphenol RF has added a new adhesive mount external GPS/GNSS antenna to its antenna lineup. This antenna is designed for outdoor use and comes with sealed IP67 capabilities, which helps improve performance with a low noise amplifier.

Amphenol RF is excited to introduce a new external antenna design to their growing antenna collection. This antenna can be easily mounted with adhesive and is designed to withstand water damage with an IP67 waterproof rating. With a built-in low noise amplifier (LNA), this active GPS/GNSS antenna provides improved performance, making it perfect for applications where the receiver is near the antenna and in areas with strong signal strength, like open spaces with unobstructed views.

This antenna is designed to strengthen weak signals from satellites by enhancing signal clarity and minimizing interference. It needs an external power supply to activate the built-in LNA and is not as affected by signal weakening from longer cable distances since the amplification takes place near the antenna. This external antenna is equipped with an SMA connector at the end of a 3-meter pigtail and is frequently utilized in GPS, Glonass, navigation, location services, and fleet management systems.

This antenna is part of a collection of external and internal IoT antennas that are currently on the market in different designs to support popular wireless protocols like LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LoRa. These ready-made products can be paired with other Amphenol RF connectors, adapters, and cable assemblies to form a complete solution.
