Basler Unveils New CXP-12 Line Scan Cameras for High-End Vision Applications: A Game-Changer in Battery Production and Beyond

Basler introduces the new CXP-12 line scan cameras with resolutions of 8k and 16k. The racer 2 L 8k and 16k models are the first in Basler's new line scan camera series, featuring advanced Gpixel sensors and a CXP-12 interface. Along with the cameras, Basler provides necessary components for a complete line scan vision system, like lighting and lenses. This enables the implementation of top-tier applications, such as ensuring quality control in battery manufacturing.

Basler AG is introducing a new monochrome version of its line scan camera, the Basler racer 2 L, which comes with a CXP-12 interface at a great price. This camera uses advanced Gpixel sensors to provide resolutions of 8k or 16k and line rates of up to 200 kHz. By using Basler frame grabbers and VisualApplets software for FPGA programming, users can reduce the CPU load for pre-processing tasks. Basler also offers all the necessary components for a CXP-12 line scan image processing system, such as lighting, lenses, cables, and cooling solutions, making integration easy and cost-effective. This range of products has been extensively tested to ensure maximum compatibility, making it a great choice for high-performance image processing applications.

Designated use case: line scan cameras specifically for examining batteries.

The battery production industry is expanding quickly. It is crucial to maintain a high quality layer around the battery electrodes to ensure the battery functions optimally. To detect even the tiniest defects on the electrodes during production, a powerful camera with machine vision capabilities is necessary. In addition to accuracy, a high line frequency is needed to keep up with the fast pace of production systems. Basler's racer 2 L line scan cameras meet these essential needs, allowing for efficient and speedy detection of faults.

These cameras are commonly used in various industries such as electronics (for inspecting wafers and PCBs), logistics (for capturing barcodes), web inspection (such as print quality control), and rail inspection.
