Basler Unveils New CXP-12 Line Scan Cameras with 8k and 16k Resolution for High-End Applications in Battery Production and Beyond

Basler has introduced a new series of line scan cameras called racer 2 L with 8k and 16k resolution, featuring advanced Gpixel sensors and a CXP-12 interface. Along with the cameras, Basler also provides essential components like lighting and lenses for a complete line scan vision system. These cameras are ideal for high-end applications, such as ensuring quality control in battery manufacturing.

Basler AG is expanding its line scan camera options with the new Basler racer 2 L, which is a monochrome camera with a CXP-12 interface at a great price/performance ratio. This camera uses advanced Gpixel sensors to offer resolutions of 8k or 16k and line rates of up to 200 kHz. By using Basler frame grabbers and VisualApplets software for FPGA programming, users can reduce the CPU load in their applications by pre-processing the data. Basler also provides all the necessary components for a CXP-12 line scan image processing system, such as lighting, lenses, cables, and cooling solutions, making integration easy and cost-effective. This range of products has been extensively tested to ensure maximum compatibility and is a great option for high-performance image processing applications.

Intended use: line scan cameras designed for examining batteries.

The market for battery production is expanding quickly. It is crucial to have a high-quality layer surrounding the battery electrodes to ensure the battery functions optimally. To detect even the smallest defects on the electrodes during production, a powerful camera with machine vision system is needed. The camera must also have a high line frequency to keep up with the production system's speed. Basler's racer 2 L line scan cameras meet these essential requirements, allowing for efficient and speedy fault detection.

These cameras are commonly used in various industries such as electronics (for inspecting wafers and PCBs), logistics (for capturing barcodes), web inspection (such as print quality control), and rail inspection.
