Basler Unveils New CXP-12 Line Scan Cameras with 8k and 16k Resolution for High-End Vision Systems and Quality Assurance in Battery Production

Basler has introduced new line scan cameras with 8k and 16k resolution, known as the racer 2 L series. These cameras feature advanced Gpixel sensors and a CXP-12 interface. Basler also provides essential components for a complete line scan vision system, such as lighting and lenses. This allows for the implementation of advanced applications like quality control in battery manufacturing.

Basler AG is introducing a new monochrome version of its line scan camera, the Basler racer 2 L, which comes with a CXP-12 interface at a great price/performance ratio. This camera features advanced Gpixel sensors that allow for resolutions of 8k or 16k and line rates of up to 200 kHz. By using Basler frame grabbers and VisualApplets software for FPGA programming, users can reduce CPU load during pre-processing. Basler also offers all the necessary components for a CXP-12 line scan image processing system, such as lighting, lenses, cables, and cooling solutions, making integration simple and cost-effective for high-performance image processing applications.

Intended use: line scan cameras specifically designed for examining batteries.

The market for battery production is expanding quickly. It is crucial to maintain a high-quality layer around the surface of battery electrodes to ensure the battery functions optimally. To detect even the smallest defects on the electrodes during production, a powerful machine vision system with a high-quality camera is necessary. In addition to accuracy, a high line frequency is also important to keep pace with the production systems' speed. Basler's racer 2 L line scan cameras meet these essential criteria, allowing for efficient and rapid detection of faults.

These cameras are commonly used in various industries such as electronics (for inspecting wafers and PCBs), logistics (for capturing barcodes), web inspection (such as print quality control), and rail inspection.
