Basler Unveils New CXP-12 Line Scan Cameras with High Resolution for Advanced Quality Assurance Applications

Basler has introduced new line scan cameras with resolutions of 8k and 16k, known as the racer 2 L series. These cameras are the first in a new line of products from Basler and feature advanced Gpixel sensors and a CXP-12 interface. Basler also provides essential components like lighting and lenses for a complete line scan vision system, enabling the implementation of high-quality applications such as quality control in battery manufacturing.

Basler AG is increasing its selection of line scan cameras by introducing the new Basler racer 2 L in a monochrome version with a CXP-12 interface at a great price/performance ratio. This camera utilizes advanced Gpixel sensors to provide resolutions of 8k or 16k with line rates of up to 200 kHz. By using Basler frame grabbers and VisualApplets software for FPGA programming, users can reduce the CPU load in their applications. Basler also offers all necessary components for a CXP-12 line scan image processing system, including lighting, lenses, cables, and cooling solutions, making integration simple and cost-effective for high-performance image processing applications.

Intended use: line scan cameras designed for inspecting batteries.

The market for battery production is expanding quickly. It is crucial to maintain high quality in the layer that covers the surface of battery electrodes to ensure the battery functions optimally. A powerful camera is needed to accurately detect even the smallest defects on the electrodes during production using a machine vision system. In addition to accuracy, a high line frequency is necessary to match the speed of production systems. Basler's racer 2 L line scan cameras fulfill these essential criteria, allowing for efficient and speedy detection of faults.

These cameras are commonly used in various industries such as electronics (for inspecting wafers and PCBs), logistics (to capture barcodes), web inspection (such as print quality control), and rail inspection.
