Basler Unveils New CXP-12 Line Scan Cameras with High Resolution for Advanced Vision Systems

Basler has introduced a new series of line scan cameras, the racer 2 L 8k and 16k models, featuring Gpixel sensors and a CXP-12 interface. Along with these cameras, Basler also provides essential components like lighting and lenses for a complete line scan vision system. These cameras are ideal for high-end applications like quality control in battery manufacturing.

Basler AG is introducing a new monochrome version of its line scan camera, the Basler racer 2 L, featuring a CXP-12 interface at a great price/performance ratio. Utilizing cutting-edge Gpixel sensors, this camera offers resolutions of 8k or 16k and line rates of up to 200 kHz. By using Basler frame grabbers and VisualApplets software for FPGA programming, users can reduce CPU usage in their applications through pre-processing solutions. Basler also provides all necessary components for a CXP-12 line scan image processing system, such as lighting, lenses, cables, and cooling solutions, as a single source provider. This comprehensive and extensively tested range allows for easy integration and maximum compatibility at a competitive cost, making it a valuable option for high-performance image processing applications.

Intended use case: line scan cameras designed for inspecting batteries.

The battery production market is expanding quickly. It is crucial to maintain high quality in the layer surrounding the battery electrodes to ensure the battery functions optimally. To detect even the smallest defects on the electrodes during production, a powerful machine vision system with a high line frequency is necessary. Basler's racer 2 L line scan cameras are able to meet these requirements, allowing for effective and quick fault detection.

These cameras are commonly used in various industries such as electronics for inspecting wafers and PCBs, in logistics for capturing barcodes, in web inspection for print quality control, and in rail inspection.
