Basler Unveils New CXP-12 Line Scan Cameras with High Resolution for Quality Assurance in Battery Production

Basler introduces its new line scan cameras, the racer 2 L 8k and 16k models, which are the first in the series. These cameras feature advanced Gpixel sensors and a CXP-12 interface. Basler also provides essential components like lighting and lenses for a complete line scan vision system. This allows for the implementation of sophisticated applications, such as quality assurance in battery manufacturing.

Basler AG has expanded its line scan camera offerings with the introduction of the new Basler racer 2 L in monochrome, featuring a CXP-12 interface at a great price/performance ratio. Equipped with advanced Gpixel sensors, this camera can achieve resolutions of 8k or 16k and line rates of up to 200 kHz. By using Basler frame grabbers and VisualApplets software for FPGA programming, users can benefit from a pre-processing solution that reduces the CPU workload in applications. Basler also provides all necessary components for a CXP-12 line scan image processing system, such as lighting, lenses, cables, and cooling solutions, as a single source provider. This comprehensive range of products simplifies integration and ensures maximum compatibility at a cost-effective price, making it advantageous for high-performance image processing applications.

Intended use: line scan cameras designed for examining batteries

The battery production industry is expanding quickly. It is crucial to have high-quality layers surrounding the battery electrodes to ensure the battery functions optimally. To detect even the smallest defects on the electrodes during production, a powerful machine vision system with a high-quality camera is necessary. The camera must have a high line frequency to keep up with the speed of production systems. Basler's racer 2 L line scan cameras meet these essential criteria, allowing for efficient and quick fault detection.

These cameras are commonly used in various industries such as electronics (for inspecting wafers and PCBs), logistics (for scanning barcodes), web inspection (such as print quality control), and rail inspection.
