Basler Unveils New CXP-12 Line Scan Cameras with High Resolution for Quality Assurance in Battery Production and Beyond

Basler introduces its new line scan cameras, the racer 2 L 8k and 16k models, which are the first in its new series. These cameras feature advanced Gpixel sensors and a CXP-12 interface. Along with the cameras, Basler also offers essential components for a complete line scan vision system, such as lighting and lenses. This allows for the implementation of advanced applications like quality assurance in battery production.

Basler AG has expanded its line scan camera offerings with the introduction of the new Basler racer 2 L, which is a monochrome version equipped with a CXP-12 interface at a great price/performance ratio. This camera features state-of-the-art Gpixel sensors, allowing for resolutions of 8k or 16k and line rates of up to 200 kHz. By utilizing Basler frame grabbers and VisualApplets software for FPGA programming, users can benefit from a pre-processing solution that reduces the CPU workload in applications. Basler also provides all necessary components for a CXP-12 line scan image processing system, such as lighting, lenses, cables, and cooling solutions, making it a one-stop shop for customers. This comprehensive range of products has been extensively tested to ensure simple integration and maximum compatibility at a cost-effective price, making it an ideal choice for high-performance image processing applications.

Intended use: line scan cameras designed for examining batteries.

The market for battery production is expanding quickly. To ensure batteries work properly, it is crucial to have a high-quality layer on the surface of the battery electrodes. A powerful camera is needed during production to accurately detect any defects on the electrodes. The camera must also have a high line frequency to keep up with the production speed. Basler's racer 2 L line scan cameras meet these requirements, allowing for efficient and speedy fault detection.

These cameras can also be used in the electronics industry for tasks like inspecting wafers and printed circuit boards, capturing barcodes in the logistics industry, checking print quality in web inspection, and inspecting rails.
