Infineon Expands AIROC Wi-Fi 6/6E with CYW5591x Connected Microcontrollers for IoT Applications
Infineon has enhanced its AIROC Wi-Fi 6/6E with the introduction of the CYW5591x connected microcontrollers. These new microcontrollers combine Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4 capabilities with a secure and versatile MCU, enabling customers to create cost-effective, energy-efficient, and compact products for various IoT applications such as smart homes, industrial settings, wearables, and more. The platform includes ModusToolbox software, RTOS and Linux host drivers, a fully validated Bluetooth stack, sample code examples, Matter software support, and access to Infineon’s global partner network to help customers bring their products to market quickly.

According to Sivaram Trikutam, Vice President of Wi-Fi Products at Infineon Technologies, their AIROC CYW5591x Connected MCU family offers industry-leading wireless performance and low power consumption, making it easy for developers to create top-tier IoT products.
This versatile group of devices can serve as the central processor in an IoT device or as a component in more intricate designs to handle connectivity for IoT applications. There are three versions available in the product family: CYW55913 for operating in three frequency bands (2.4/5/6 GHz), CYW55912 for dual-band operation (2.4/5 GHz), and CYW55911 for single-band operation (2.4GHz).
