Amphenol RF Expands Antenna Portfolio with Waterproof GPS/GNSS Antenna Featuring Low Noise Amplifier

Amphenol RF has added a new external GPS/GNSS antenna to its lineup, featuring a sealed IP67 design that enhances performance through a low noise amplifier. This antenna is specifically designed for outdoor use and can be adhesive mounted.

Amphenol RF is excited to introduce a new external antenna design to its growing antenna collection. This antenna can be easily mounted with adhesive and offers waterproof protection with an IP67 rating to guard against external elements that could potentially disrupt signal quality. Equipped with a built-in low noise amplifier (LNA), this active GPS/GNSS antenna delivers improved performance, making it perfect for applications where the receiver is near the antenna and in areas with strong signal strength, like open spaces with clear visibility.

This antenna is designed to enhance weak signals from satellites by enhancing signal quality and minimizing interference. It needs an external power supply for its built-in LNA and is not as affected by signal loss from longer cables because the amplification is done near the antenna. This external antenna has an SMA connector at the end of a 3-meter cable and is often used in GPS and Glonass systems, as well as for navigation, location-based services, and fleet management.

This antenna is part of a collection of external and internal IoT antennas that are currently on the market in different configurations to support popular wireless protocols like LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LoRa. These ready-made products can be paired with other Amphenol RF connectors, adapters, and cable assemblies to create a complete solution.
