Amphenol RF Expands Antenna Portfolio with IP67 Sealed GPS/GNSS Antenna Featuring Low Noise Amplifier for Enhanced Performance

Amphenol RF has added a new adhesive mount external GPS/GNSS antenna to their antenna lineup, specifically designed for outdoor use with sealed IP67 capabilities. This antenna is equipped with a low noise amplifier to enhance performance.

Amphenol RF is excited to introduce a new external antenna design to their growing antenna product line. This antenna can be mounted using adhesive and is waterproof with an IP67 rating, protecting it from external elements that could disrupt signal quality. The active GPS/GNSS antenna includes a built-in low noise amplifier (LNA) for improved performance, making it perfect for applications where the receiver is near the antenna and in areas with strong signal strength, like open spaces with a clear line of sight.

This antenna is designed to boost weak signals from satellites by enhancing signal clarity and decreasing interference. It needs an external power supply to power the built-in LNA and is not as affected by signal degradation due to longer cable distances because the amplification takes place near the antenna. It comes with an SMA connector at the end of a 3-meter cable and is commonly used in GPS, Glonass, navigation, location-based services, and fleet management systems.

This antenna is part of a collection of both external and internal IoT antennas that are currently on the market in different configurations to support popular wireless protocols like LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LoRa. These pre-made products can be paired with Amphenol RF connectors, adapters, and cable assemblies to form a complete solution.
