Red Lion Unveils N-Tron NT116: A High-Performance Industrial Ethernet Switch for Rugged Environments

Red Lion introduces the N-Tron NT116, an industrial Ethernet switch with 16 ports designed for tough conditions. This switch offers exceptional performance and reliability for use in rugged industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates new technologies to help industrial organizations access, connect, and view their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically designed for industrial uses that require reliable performance for important tasks in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is a reliable and high-performing device designed for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact in size and features 16 high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) within a durable industrial metal enclosure. The NT116 has high tolerance to shock and vibration, and all ports come with built-in ESD and surge protection. Users can expect exceptional reliability with a 1.2M hour MTBF rating, all within a slim and space-saving design that can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.

The NT116 offers strong network support with the ability to handle communications at up to 3.2 Gb/s throughput. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and can operate in both full and half duplex modes. Redundancy is provided with two 10-49 VDC power inputs.

The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch that now includes compliance with IEEE 802.3 standards and certifications for use in marine, railway, and rolling stock environments. The new switch also holds UL certifications for both Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx certification.

The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the process of collecting important performance data. Its tough and durable design ensures that it can withstand the harsh conditions typically seen in factory floor control networks, as well as in industries such as oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.

Diane Davis, the Product Manager, mentioned that when industrial equipment operators and business leaders can easily and quickly access their data, they are able to get more benefit from it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput in order to enhance efficiency and improve operational performance.
