Red Lion Unveils N-Tron NT116: A Robust 16-Port Industrial Ethernet Switch for Harsh Environments

Red Lion introduces the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for tough conditions. This switch offers superior performance and reliability in challenging industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates advanced technologies to help industrial businesses access, connect, and display their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically designed for industrial use, providing reliable performance for critical applications in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is a reliable and high-performance option for tasks like data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact and includes 16 copper ports for connectivity. The switch is housed in a durable industrial metal enclosure, with high tolerance to shock and vibration. Each port has ESD and surge protection built in. The switch has an impressive 1.2 million hour MTBF rating and operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.

For strong network support, the NT116 can handle communication speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s without any slowdown. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and can operate in both full and half duplex modes. Redundancy is provided with two power inputs that can accept 10-49 VDC.

The N-Tron NT116 is the updated version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. Along with meeting IEEE 802.3 standards and certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock applications, the new switch also holds UL certifications for both Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx certifications.

The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the collection of important performance data. Its tough and sturdy design ensures it can handle the harsh conditions commonly found in factory control networks, as well as industries like oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, traffic control, and transportation.

Diane Davis, who is the Product Manager, stated that when industrial equipment operators and business leaders can easily and quickly access their data, they can benefit more from it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and improving operational performance.
