Amphenol RF Expands Antenna Portfolio with Sealed IP67 External GPS/GNSS Antenna Featuring Low Noise Amplifier
Amphenol RF has added a new external GPS/GNSS antenna to its range, featuring a sealed IP67 design for outdoor use. The antenna comes with a low noise amplifier for enhanced performance.
Amphenol RF is excited to introduce a new external antenna design to their growing antenna collection. This antenna is designed to be mounted with adhesive and is waterproof with an IP67 rating to protect against external elements that could interfere with signal quality. It also includes a built-in low noise amplifier (LNA) for improved performance, making it perfect for applications where the receiver is near the antenna in strong signal strength environments, like open areas with a clear line of sight.
This kind of antenna can boost weak signals from satellites by enhancing signal clarity and minimizing interference. It needs an external power supply to power the built-in LNA and is less affected by signal degradation over longer cable distances because the amplification takes place near the antenna. The external antenna is equipped with an SMA connector at the end of a 3-meter cable and is typically used in GPS, Glonass, navigation, location-based services, and fleet management systems.
This antenna is part of a collection of external and internal IoT antennas that are available in different configurations to support popular wireless protocols like LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LoRa. These ready-made products can be used with other Amphenol RF connectors, adapters, and cable assemblies to create a complete solution.
