Transcosmos and Transcosmos Online Communications Introduce LINE-Powered Online Payment Service for Garbage Collection Fees at Kohoku Wide Area Admin Business Center

Transcosmos and Transcosmos Online Communications have introduced a new online payment service for the Kohoku Wide Area Admin Business Center, utilizing LINE. The center now automatically processes applications for large garbage collection and provides a convenient online payment option for garbage disposal fees through LINE.

transcosmos and transcosmos online communications are excited to share that on June 7, 2024, they introduced an online payment option for KANAMETO ECO, a system for collecting oversized garbage through LINE, to the Kohoku wide area administration business center. This center, which serves the Kohoku administrative district in Shiga prefecture, can now provide citizens with the convenience of paying their oversized garbage collection fees through its official LINE account.

The Kohoku wide area administration business center is a local organization that operates in Nagahama and Maibara cities in Shiga prefecture. They are responsible for managing waste collection, night-soil disposal services, and crematoriums in the area. Recently, on March 24, 2023, the center launched an official LINE account named Kohoku Wide Area Administration Business Center. Additionally, they introduced a service called KANAMETO ECO on March 15, 2024. This new service allows users to handle the entire process of disposing of large items, from submitting an application to rescheduling or canceling it, all through the LINE app.

Beginning June 7, 2024, residents of Nagahama and Maibara can now pay for oversized garbage collection services online through the KANAMETO ECO platform on the LINE app. This new feature allows users to conveniently settle collection fees using credit cards, PayPay, or LINE Pay. Previously, residents had to buy garbage disposal tickets to use the collection service, but now they have the choice to pay online, making the process more user-friendly.

Users can access the designated online form through the center's LINE official account to schedule a garbage collection. They can choose their area, preferred collection date, type and number of items. There is a limit on how many items can be included in each booking request, which is displayed on the item selection page. If the number of items exceeds the limit, users cannot move forward. The system calculates the collection service fees based on the items selected. Users can submit the application form to the center after providing contact information and collection site details.

The center has implemented a review and approval feature that allows staff to check the information entered on the KANAMETO ECO's admin page before confirming a request. Users will be notified through a message whether their application has been approved or rejected. In case of rejection, users will receive a message explaining the reasons. Upon approval, users will receive a confirmation message along with a link to the online payment page for fee settlement.

KANAMETO ECO is a new addition to KANAMETO, a tool powered by LINE that is currently being used by over 220 local governments for Government Digital Transformation (DX). The Kohoku wide area administration business center is the first to utilize this tool among all local public partial and wide-area cooperatives in Japan. By enhancing the features of KANAMETO, transcosmos and transcosmos online communications aim to support governments in their DX efforts and improve communication between local governments and their residents.

KANAMETO ECO offers online payment options for residents to easily pay for garbage collection services using PayPay, LINE Pay, credit cards, and other methods. You can visit their website at https://kanameto.me/eco/index.html or https://www.trans-cosmos.co.jp/english/ for more information.
