Transcosmos and Transcosmos Online Communications Launch LINE-Powered Online Payment Service for Kohoku Wide Area Admin Business Center: A Game-Changer in Garbage Disposal Fees Management

Transcosmos and Transcosmos Online Communications have collaborated to introduce a new online payment service for Kohoku Wide Area Admin Business Center, utilizing LINE as the platform. The center now has the capability to automatically receive applications for the collection of oversized garbage and also provides an online payment option for garbage disposal fees through LINE.

transcosmos and transcosmos online communications have recently introduced an online payment option for KANAMETO ECO, a system for managing large trash collection through the messaging app LINE. This service is now available for the Kohoku wide area administration business center in Shiga prefecture, allowing them to accept online payments for oversized garbage collection fees through their official LINE account, providing a convenient option for citizens.

The Kohoku wide area administration business center is a local government organization that serves Nagahama and Maibara cities in Shiga prefecture. They are responsible for managing waste collection, night soil disposal services, and crematoriums in the area. In March 2023, the center launched an official LINE account with the username Kohoku Wide Area Administration Business Center. They also introduced a system called KANAMETO ECO on March 15, 2024. This system allows users to handle the entire process of disposing of large items, from submitting an application to rescheduling or cancelling it, all through the LINE app.

Beginning on June 7, 2024, residents of Nagahama and Maibara who want to request oversized garbage collection can now make online payments through the KANAMETO ECO platform. This new feature allows users to pay for collection fees via the LINE app using credit cards, PayPay, or LINE Pay. In the past, residents had to buy garbage disposal tickets to use the collection service. With the introduction of online payments, users now have the option to either use disposal tickets or pay online, making the process more convenient for them.

Users can access an online form through the center's LINE official account to request garbage collection. On the form, users choose their location, preferred collection date, and specify the type and quantity of items to be collected. There is a maximum limit for each booking request, which is displayed on the item selection page to prevent users from exceeding it. The system calculates the collection service fees based on the items selected. Users can submit the form to the center after providing contact details and collection site information.

The center has implemented a review and approval feature that allows staff to check and verify the information entered on the KANAMETO ECO's admin page before finalizing the request. Users will be notified via message whether their application has been approved or rejected. If a user's application is rejected, they will receive a message detailing the reasons for the rejection. Upon approval, users will receive a confirmation message with a link to the online payment page for fee settlement.

KANAMETO ECO is a new feature that has been included in KANAMETO, a Government Digital Transformation (DX) tool powered by LINE. This tool is currently being utilized by over 220 local governments. The Kohoku wide area administration business center is the first user among all local public partial and wide-area cooperatives in Japan. By further enhancing the features of KANAMETO, transcosmos and transcosmos online communications will support governments in advancing their DX initiatives and improving communication between local governments and their residents.

The KANAMETO ECO platform includes a function for online payment processing, allowing residents to pay for garbage collection services using various methods such as PayPay, LINE Pay, credit cards, and others.
