Wiliot Unveils Inaugural Ambient IoT Unplug Fest: A Game-Changer for Next-Gen IoT Devices and Interoperability

Wiliot has announced their first Ambient IoT Unplug Fest, an event focused on interoperability for companies creating next-generation Ambient IoT devices. The event will include discussions on the current state of Ambient IoT, previews of upcoming products, and the introduction of the Wiliot Ambient IoT Certified Product program. This program will verify interoperable solutions, ultimately supporting the growth of a highly scalable Internet of everyday Things.

Wiliot, a leader in ambient Internet of Things (IoT) technology, revealed plans for the groundbreaking Wiliot Ambient IoT Unplug Fest, scheduled for July 22-23, 2024, in Bentonville, Arkansas.

The purpose of the event is to unite manufacturing partners, companies, and technologists who are working on developing and expanding ambient IoT devices to maximize their capabilities.

Ambient IoT is an innovative wireless technology that does not require batteries and is now being integrated into popular wireless standards like Bluetooth, 5G Advanced, 6G, and Wi-Fi. This technology enables various products to connect to the Internet and utilize artificial intelligence capabilities at a much lower cost compared to older technologies.

Dotan Ziv, the general manager of Wiliot's Network business, believes that for ambient IoT to have a significant impact and change the world, it requires a collaborative effort from a network of companies offering compatible products and technologies. The first Unplug Fest organized by Wiliot focuses on promoting interoperability within this ecosystem, allowing companies to test their technology with a wider range of solutions beyond their own deployments. This initiative aims to enable companies to be at the forefront of benefiting from the immense potential of ambient IoT as it revolutionizes various industries.

In order to achieve this important goal, Wiliot is launching the Wiliot Ambient IoT Certified Product program. During the Ambient IoT Unplug Fest, companies will have the opportunity to test their products in a controlled environment to ensure they work well with ambient IoT network bridges, gateways, and other devices. Products and solutions that successfully pass compatibility testing will receive Ambient IoT Certification.

Ziv mentioned that moving towards a more widespread and cost-effective sensing infrastructure is important, especially as we transition from a labor-intensive and expensive auto-ID reader system. Products that are certified for ambient IoT interoperability will play a crucial role in this shift. Wiliot is leading the way in ambient IoT technology and is proud to be involved in the initial stages of product certification. However, Ziv acknowledges that it will require collaboration from the entire industry to meet the growing demand in the market.

At the Wiliot Ambient IoT Unplug Fest, participants will have the opportunity to acquire:

Ziv stated that Wiliot's Ambient IoT Unplug Fest is a great chance for businesses to participate in the ambient IoT industry and take advantage of market opportunities. They are excited to leave Bentonville with tested and deployable solutions that can help grow the ambient IoT market and benefit both the industry and its customers.
