Red Lion Launches N-Tron NT116: Enhancing Industrial Ethernet Switch Performance in Harsh Environments

Red Lion introduces the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for tough environments. This switch offers superior performance and reliability in challenging industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates advanced technologies to help industrial businesses access, connect, and view their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically designed for industrial settings that require reliable performance for essential applications in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is known for its reliability and performance in handling data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control tasks. It is a small device with 16 high-performance copper ports that support 10/100BaseTX RJ45 connections, all housed in a durable industrial metal casing. The NT116 can withstand high levels of shock and vibration, and each port is equipped with ESD and surge protection. Users can expect a high level of reliability with a 1.2M hour MTBF rating, all in a compact design suitable for tight spaces and extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.

The NT116 offers strong network support with the ability to handle communications at speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and can operate in both full and half duplex modes. Redundancy is provided with two 10-49 VDC power inputs.

The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. It meets IEEE 802.3 standards and has certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock use, as well as UL certifications for Ordinary and Hazardous locations, along with ATEX and IECEx certification.

The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the collection of important performance data. With a tough and durable design, it can handle the harsh conditions commonly seen in factory floor control networks, as well as in industries such as oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.

Diane Davis, a Product Manager, emphasized the importance of industrial equipment operators and business leaders being able to easily and quickly access their data. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and operational performance.
