Red Lion Launches N-Tron NT116: Enhancing Industrial Ethernet Switch Performance in Harsh Environments

Red Lion has introduced the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed specifically for tough working conditions. This switch offers exceptional performance and dependability in challenging industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates new technologies to help industrial organizations access, connect, and view their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically made for industrial use, providing reliable performance for critical applications in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is a reliable and high-performance device designed for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact in size and features 16 high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) housed in a sturdy industrial metal enclosure. The NT116 has high shock and vibration resistance, with all ports equipped with ESD and surge protection. Users will appreciate the exceptional 1.2M hour MTBF rating, as well as the slim and space-saving design that can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.

The NT116 provides strong network support by allowing for communication at full wire speed of up to 3.2 Gb/s throughput. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and is compatible with both full and half duplex operation. Redundancy is ensured with two 10-49 VDC power inputs.

The N-Tron NT116 is an updated version of Red Lion's 116TX industrial ethernet switch that meets IEEE 802.3 standards and has certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock use. This switch also has UL certifications for both Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx certifications.

The Red Lion NT116 from N-Tron simplifies the process of collecting important performance data. Its tough and durable design ensures it can withstand the harsh conditions typically found in industrial control networks, as well as in industries such as oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, traffic control, and transportation.

Diane Davis, the Product Manager, stated that when industrial equipment operators and business leaders are able to easily and quickly access their data, they can get more benefits from it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and boosting operational performance.
