Red Lion Unveils N-Tron NT116: A High-Performance Industrial Ethernet Switch for Harsh Environments
Red Lion introduces the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for tough conditions. This switch offers exceptional performance and reliability in challenging industrial settings.
Red Lion, a company that creates cutting-edge technologies to help industrial businesses access, connect, and view their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically designed for industrial settings that require reliable performance for crucial operations in tough environments.
The NT116 unmanaged switch is a reliable and high-performing device designed for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is small in size and features 16 high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) enclosed in a durable industrial metal casing. The NT116 is resistant to shocks and vibrations, with all ports equipped with ESD and surge protection. Users can enjoy a high 1.2M hour MTBF rating in a compact design that can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.
The NT116 provides strong network support by allowing for communication at speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and is capable of operating in both full and half duplex modes. Redundancy is built in with two 10-49 VDC power inputs.
The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. Along with meeting IEEE 802.3 standards and being certified for use in marine, railway, and rolling stock environments, this new switch also holds UL certifications for both Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx certifications.
The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the collection of important performance data. Its robust and tough construction ensures it can handle the harsh conditions typically seen in factory floor control networks, as well as in industries such as oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.
Diane Davis, a Product Manager, explained that when industrial equipment operators and business leaders are able to easily and quickly access their data, they can benefit more from it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, leading to improved efficiency and operational performance.
