Red Lion Unveils N-Tron NT116: A Reliable 16-Port Industrial Ethernet Switch for Harsh Environments

Red Lion introduces the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for tough conditions. This switch offers exceptional performance and dependability in challenging industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates advanced technologies to help industrial businesses access, connect, and view their data, is excited to introduce the new N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically made for industrial settings that require reliable performance for critical tasks in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is designed for reliable and high performance data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact and has 16 copper ports with high performance (10/100BaseTX RJ45) in a durable industrial metal enclosure. The NT116 is built to withstand shock and vibration, with all ports equipped with ESD and surge protection. It has an impressive 1.2M hour MTBF rating and operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C, all in a slim and space-saving design.

The NT116 offers strong network support with the ability to communicate at speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and can operate in both full and half duplex modes. Redundancy is ensured with two power inputs ranging from 10-49 VDC.

The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. Along with meeting IEEE 802.3 standards and having certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock applications, the new switch is also certified for use in UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as being compliant with ATEX and IECEx standards.

The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the collection of important performance data. With its sturdy and tough construction, it can handle the harsh conditions typically seen in factory floor control networks, as well as in industries such as oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.

According to Product Manager Diane Davis, being able to easily and quickly access data allows industrial equipment operators and business leaders to get more value from it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and boosting operational performance.
