Red Lion Unveils N-Tron NT116: A Reliable and High-Performance Industrial Ethernet Switch for Harsh Environments

Red Lion introduces the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for tough conditions. This switch offers exceptional performance and reliability in challenging industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates cutting-edge technology for industrial organizations to access, connect, and visualize their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically designed for industrial use, providing reliable performance for critical applications in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is a reliable and high-performing device designed for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact in size and features 16 high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) housed in a durable industrial metal enclosure. The NT116 is built to withstand shocks and vibrations, with all ports equipped with ESD and surge protection. Users can expect exceptional reliability with a 1.2M hour MTBF rating, all in a slim and space-saving design that can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.

The NT116 provides strong network support with the ability to handle communication speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and is capable of operating in both full and half duplex modes. Redundancy is ensured with two 10-49 VDC power inputs available.

The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. Along with meeting IEEE 802.3 standards and having certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock applications, this new switch is also certified for UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx certification.

The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the collection of important performance data. With a tough and durable design, it can handle harsh conditions typically found in factory floor control networks, as well as in industries like oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.

According to Product Manager Diane Davis, having easy and fast access to data for industrial equipment operators and business leaders allows them to get more value out of it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and operational performance.
