Red Lion Unveils N-Tron NT116: High-Performance 16-Port Industrial Ethernet Switch for Rugged Environments

Red Lion has released a new product called the N-Tron NT116, which is a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for use in tough environments. This switch is known for its exceptional performance and reliability in industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates new technologies to help industrial organizations access, connect, and display their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically made for industrial uses that require reliable performance for important tasks in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is known for its reliable performance in data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact and has 16 high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) housed in a durable industrial metal enclosure. The NT116 has high tolerance for shock and vibration, with all ports equipped with ESD and surge protection. Users can expect exceptional reliability with a 1.2M hour MTBF rating, in a slim design that saves space and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.

The NT116 offers strong network support with the ability to handle communications at speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and can operate in both full and half duplex modes. To ensure reliability, the unit comes equipped with two 10-49 VDC power inputs for redundancy.

The N-Tron NT116 represents the updated version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. Along with meeting IEEE 802.3 standards and certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock applications, this new switch is also approved for use in UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as being ATEX and IECEx certified.

The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the collection of important performance data. With its tough and sturdy design, it is able to withstand harsh conditions commonly found in factory floor control networks, as well as industries like oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.

Diane Davis, who is the Product Manager, stated that when industrial equipment operators and business leaders are able to easily and quickly access their data, they can get more benefits from it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and boosting operational performance.
