NeoCortec Showcases Easy Sensor to Cloud Solution at Embedded World 2024: Simple Setup and Quick Data Processing in the Cloud

At Embedded World 2024, NeoCortec showcased a complete solution that connects sensors to the cloud. The setup process is straightforward and efficient, and data processing in the cloud is convenient and user-friendly.
During Embedded World 2024 in Nuremberg, Germany in April 2024, NeoCortec, a company specializing in wireless connectivity and offering low-power wireless mesh network hardware and software solutions, showcased the simplicity of creating a complete sensor to cloud solution using NeoMesh Click boards from MikroE and the IoTConnect cloud solution from Avnet Abacus. At their booth and in two exhibition halls (Hall 3 and Hall 3A), NeoCortec demonstrated a wireless sensor network using 35 nodes placed in various locations. Setting up the battery-powered network only required a few hours and involved turning on the nodes in any order.
NeoCortec gathered data on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in two exhibition halls by measuring temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide (CO2) levels. They also counted the number of Bluetooth devices near each sensor to estimate the crowd size throughout the day. NeoCortec utilized NeoMesh Clickboards from MikroElektronika for the nodes, combining three Clickboards on a development board with a battery for each sensor. The gateway was a BeaglePlay board from Beagleboard, equipped with a NeoMesh Clickboard, and the data was uploaded to Avnet’s IoT Connect cloud platform. Dashboards were created to display the IAQ data and Bluetooth beacon heatmap, which visitors to NeoCortec’s booth could view using the NeoMesh monitoring tool.
