Red Lion Launches N-Tron NT116: Enhancing Industrial Ethernet Switch Performance in Harsh Environments

Red Lion has introduced the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for tough conditions. This switch offers exceptional performance and reliability in challenging industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates new technologies to help industrial organizations access, connect, and see their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically made for industrial uses that require reliable performance for important tasks in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is designed for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control, offering reliable performance. It is compact with 16 high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) and housed in a durable industrial metal enclosure. The switch has high shock and vibration tolerance, with all ports equipped with ESD and surge protection. It has an impressive 1.2M hour MTBF rating and operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C in a slim, space-saving design.

The NT116 provides strong network support with the ability to handle communication speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s without any slowdowns. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and can operate in both full and half duplex modes. Additionally, it has two power inputs that support 10-49 VDC for backup power.

The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. Along with meeting IEEE 802.3 standards and having certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock applications, the new switch is also certified for UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx certification.

The Red Lion N-Tron NT116 simplifies the collection of important performance data. Its tough and durable design ensures it can handle the harsh conditions typically found in industrial control networks, oil and gas facilities, utilities, wastewater treatment plants, alternative energy sources, rail systems, intelligent traffic control systems, and transportation applications.

Diane Davis, a Product Manager, explained that when industrial equipment operators and business leaders can easily and quickly access their data, they can benefit more from it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and operational performance.
