Red Lion Unveils N-Tron NT116: A High-Performance Ethernet Switch for Harsh Industrial Environments
Red Lion introduces the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for tough working conditions. This switch offers exceptional performance and reliability for use in rugged industrial settings.
Red Lion, a company that creates new technologies to help industrial businesses access, connect, and see their data, has released the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically made for industrial use in tough conditions where reliable performance is crucial for important tasks.
The NT116 unmanaged switch is designed to provide reliable and high-performance connectivity for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact in size, with 16 high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) housed in a durable industrial metal enclosure. The switch has high tolerance to shock and vibration, and all ports are equipped with built-in ESD and surge protection. With an impressive 1.2M hour MTBF rating, users can expect consistent performance in a slim and space-saving design that can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.
The NT116 offers strong network support by allowing for communication at speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s. It uses store-and-forward technology and can operate in both full and half duplex modes. Redundancy is provided with two 10-49 VDC power inputs.
The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of Red Lion's 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. Along with meeting IEEE 802.3 standards and holding certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock industries, this new switch is also certified for UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx.
The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the collection of important performance data. With a tough and durable design, it can handle the harsh conditions typically seen in factory floor control networks, as well as in industries like oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.
Diane Davis, the Product Manager, stated that when operators of industrial equipment and business leaders are able to easily and quickly access their data, they can benefit more from it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch is designed to reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and boosting operational performance.
