Red Lion Launches N-Tron NT116: Enhancing Industrial Ethernet Switch Performance and Reliability in Harsh Environments

Red Lion introduces the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for tough conditions. This switch offers superior performance and and dependability in challenging industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates new technologies to help industrial companies access, connect, and view their data, is excited to introduce the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically made for industrial uses that require reliable performance for important tasks in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch provides reliable and high-performance connectivity for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact in size and features 16 high-performance copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) housed in a durable industrial metal enclosure. The NT116 is designed to withstand high levels of shock and vibration, with all ports equipped with ESD and surge protection. Users can expect exceptional reliability with a 1.2M hour MTBF rating, in a slim and space-saving design that can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.

The NT116 provides strong network support by enabling communication at speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s without any slowdown. It operates using store-and-forward technology and can work in both full and half duplex modes. Additionally, it has two 10-49 VDC power inputs for backup power supply.

The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of the Red Lion 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch. It meets IEEE 802.3 standards and has certifications for use in marine, railway, and rolling stock environments. The new switch is also certified for UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx.

The new N-Tron NT116 from Red Lion simplifies the process of collecting important performance data. With a strong and tough design, it can handle the harsh conditions typically seen in factory floor control networks, as well as in industries such as oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.

Diane Davis, a Product Manager, stated that industrial equipment operators and business leaders can benefit from having easy and quick access to their data. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch helps reduce downtime and increase throughput, ultimately enhancing efficiency and operational performance.
