Red Lion Unveils N-Tron NT116: A Robust 16-Port Industrial Ethernet Switch for Rugged Environments

Red Lion has introduced the N-Tron NT116, a 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed to withstand tough conditions. This switch offers exceptional performance and reliability in challenging industrial settings.

Red Lion, a company that creates new technologies to help industrial organizations access, connect, and display their data, has exciting news about the release of the N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch. This switch is specifically made for industrial settings that require reliable performance for important tasks in tough environments.

The NT116 unmanaged switch is a reliable and high-performance option for data acquisition, Ethernet I/O, and process control. It is compact and has 16 copper ports (10/100BaseTX RJ45) housed in a durable industrial metal enclosure. The switch has high shock and vibration resistance, as well as built-in ESD and surge protection on all ports. It has an impressive 1.2M hour MTBF rating and operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C in a slim and space-saving design.

The NT116 offers strong network support with the ability to handle communication speeds of up to 3.2 Gb/s. It utilizes store-and-forward technology and can operate in both full and half duplex modes. Redundancy is ensured with two 10-49 VDC power inputs available.

The N-Tron NT116 is an upgraded version of the 116TX unmanaged industrial ethernet switch from Red Lion. Along with meeting the IEEE 802.3 standards and having certifications for marine, railway, and rolling stock industries, the new switch is also certified for UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations, as well as ATEX and IECEx.

The N-Tron NT116 by Red Lion simplifies the collection of important performance data. Its tough and sturdy design ensures that it can withstand the harsh conditions typically found in factory floor control networks, as well as in industries such as oil and gas, utilities, wastewater treatment, alternative energy, rail, intelligent traffic control, and transportation.

According to Product Manager Diane Davis, having easy and fast access to data for industrial equipment operators and business leaders allows them to make better use of it. The N-Tron NT116 unmanaged industrial ethernet switch reduces downtime and increases data transfer speed to enhance productivity and boost operational effectiveness.
